Cristina Gracía Martínez

PhD in Hispanic Studies and Communication Studies from the University of Grenoble Alpes (France) and the University Rovira i Virgili (Spain). Her thesis entitled “Humanitarian aid, gender and digital communication: the image of women in NGOs. The case of Chocó, Colombia (2000-2020)” is at the intersection between decolonial studies, gender studies and sociology of communication. The research focuses particularly on the relationship between the colonial question and humanitarian aid.

Cristina has carried out a research stay at the Technological University of Chocó (Colombia) and has been a teaching assistant at the University of Grenoble Alpes in Applied Foreign Languages and Latin American History undergraduate programs as well as the International Cooperation and Multilingual Communication master’s program. Since January 2023, she is a member of the editorial board of the journal RITA, Revue Interdisciplinaire de travaux sur les Amériques.
