Professor of History of Contemporary Art and Director of UCA Doctoral College, University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury (England). Harris is the author or editor of twenty books, including Modernism in Dispute: Art since the 1940s (Yale UP 1993), Federal Art and National Culture (Cambridge UP 1995), The New Art History (Routledge 2001) and The Utopian Globalists: Artists of Worldwide Revolution, 1919-2009 (Wiley-Blackwell 2013). He is the editor of a book collection for Liverpool University Press and, with Menene Gras (Casa Asia), of Contemporary Art in Global Asia (IB Tauris) . His next books are Contemporary Art in a Globalized World (Wiley-Blackwell) and The Myth of the Art Market: Neoliberalism in the Social Order of Contemporary Art (IB Tauris).
