Marie Blanc

PhD candidate at the Université Grenoble Alpes under the supervision of Paula Barreiro-Lopez and Christian Joschke (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris), attached to the LARHRA.

Her doctoral project focuses on the circulation of the image of the city between the countries of the Soviet bloc, in particular Czechoslovakia, and the countries of the Western bloc, notably France, during the Cold War.

She graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon and holds a master’s degree in art history from the Université Paris X Nanterre La Défense (2018).

She worked as scientific assistant to Sylvie Ramond, director of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, in 2019/2020, notably around the preparation of the exhibition « Picasso. Baigneuses et baigneurs ». In this context, she has published an article on the contemporary critical and public reception of Picasso, as well as a thematic biography of the artist.
