The book Revolver el tiempo. Conceptos críticos, mutaciones históricas y estéticas entre la Guerra Fría y la contrarrevolución neoliberal (Bellaterra, 2023) will be presented on 14 December 2023 at 19.30 at La Caníbal (C/ Napoles 314, Barcelona). The editors Paula Barrerio López and María Ruido will be accompanied by Ignasi Gonzalo Salellas, Antonio Gómez Villar and María Íñigo Clavo.

This book points to the need to rethink concepts (such as subjectivity, labor, solidarity, entropy, biennialization…) that, crossed by history, sociology and economics, seek to establish an anchor in representation and performativity, taken from contemporary art history and visual and cultural studies. Indeed, in these processes we are describing, the configuration of new visualities, imaginaries and cultural practices was key to legitimize such historical transformations. Crossed by the contradictions of the period, art and culture accompanied, as well as resisted, the seismic changes that the transition to the neoliberal global order implied.
