From April to June 2017, head researcher of MoDe(s) Paula Barreiro López (Universitat de Barcelona) is visiting professor at the École Normale Supérieure, invited by the labex TransferS and Béatrice Joyeux-Prunel (IHMC) to collaborate with the project Artl@s and contribute to its annual seminar Biennales du Sud (Biennials of the South).
During her residency, Paula Barreiro will give the Seminar of general introduction to Spanish art under Francoism (6 sessions in April-May), that focuses on the relations, negotiations and “collisions” between the avant-gardes and the Spanish dictatorial system, from the 1950s till the end of Franco’s dictatorship.
In the framework of the seminar Biennials of the South, she will give the conferences Biennales et politique artistique sous le Franquisme (May 4th, 13h30-16h) and Avant-garde et réalité sociale à la Biennale de Venise de 1976 : une lutte pour la signification de l’art moderne dans l’Espagne du franquisme (June 1st, 13h30-16h).
She will also participate in the 2-days event Cartographier les circulations internationales. 2 jours d’ateliers de formation à la cartographie numérique,partant du cas des Biennales organized by Béatrice Joyeux-Prunel on June 8th and 9th, 2017, with the support of the projects MoDe(s), labex TransferS and Postdigital.
