The international conference Cold Atlantic. Cultural War, Dissident Artistic Practices, Networks and Contact Zones at the Time of the Iron Curtain will be launched on Monday 5 September at the Museo Reina Sofía, in Madrid.
Articulated in four panels, the conference proposes to chart a new cartography of artistic practices and institutional relations, both subjective and political to reconsider different accounts of modern art during the Cold War.
It includes conferences by Andrea Giunta, Jonathan Harris, Walter Mignolo and Sarah Wilson, with responses by Julia Bailey, Paula Barreiro López, Atreyee Gupta and Jaime Vindel. The final debate will be chaired by Serge Guilbaut.
The three days of conferences and debates will be broadcast with livestream.
